The infamous William Brodie was born in Edinburgh in 1741. William followed in his fathers footsteps and became a cabinetmaker and locksmith and later on became a Deacon of the Incorporation of Wrights on the Edinburgh Council.
William Brodie was believed by many to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
